Result/Impact

River of Life Homes, Inc. has helped many women and their children since the shelter opened in 2006 with ninety-five percent of our clients becoming self-sufficient. Many of our clients have returned to school and completed their education, obtained  degrees and secured employments.

 Client Impact Stories:

Woman: Encountered domestic violence, had no place to live, was on fixed income, did not know financial management. She came to River of Life Homes Shelter and participated in our life skills classes where she learned about financial management, health, and enjoyed our bible study classes. She is now independent and living on her own. 

Woman: Came to River of Life Homes Shelter to escape domestic violence. She participated in our life skills classes and attended school and completed her Nurses’ Assistance Training. She is now with her family, furthering her education.

Woman: And her 3 children transferred from another domestic violence shelter to River of Life Homes, Shelter.  She participated in our life skills classes and subsequently obtained employment and moved into her own apartment. Her son received the President's Award for Academic Excellence from his school while at River of Life.

Woman: River of Life Homes provided shelter for her and her 4 children. She worked hard and took the necessary steps to become independent. She moved to her own place within a very short time.

Woman: Transferred from another domestic violence shelter to River of Life Homes.  She participated in our life skills classes, worked, completed medical school,and passed her exams. She is now an intern to practice medicine.
